    Hello:

My name is Craig Massey. I began my SBR competition career in SE MI with the Allen Park Gun Club and also the Ford Gun Club ("Mustangs") where I had the privilege to shoot with Bob White, Gerry Ouellette, Denny Wu, Duane TeSelle, Dan Heslip and other fine shooters. I know Denny passed on last year and Gerry many years ago. However, if you know the others' wherabouts, please let them know I would like to contact them.

I joined the Army in 69 and 25 years later ended up in South Haven. About three years ago following my return from a 2009 active duty stint in Afghanistan, I resumed competitive shooting. Particpated with the Southern MI Gun Club in the St. Joseph Valley Rifle League which had a 4-position winter league for the 2010 and 2011 winters. It folded this year, leaving no league in my area. My efforts to find a team were fruitless.

I would be interested in finding a team that intends to shoot 3 or 4 position, A-17 or USA 50 targets, any sights (as my iron sight eyes are not so good anymore). Prefer in-person but postal matches also work.

    Anything going on out there?

    Thanks,

    Craig

    Mr Massey:

In response your your inquiry, the only league that I know of is the CENTRAL MICHIGAN RIFLE AND PISTOL LEAGUE which is composed of six teams and is a postal league. These teams are located in the central part of the state.

There is a prone league which is state wide. It is called  the snow country league and is an English match course (60 shots). you can access the information at michrpa.com, affiliated sites, semno, and the 2013 snow country match schedule and program link.

As a side note, I competed in the southern Michigan league against the ford gun club and Allen park club among others.

I've heard that Duane Teselle is still living.  Other than Denny and Duane, I have no idea where any of the others are.

Slowly, but surely, all of the MRPA matches will move to this site.  SEMNO runs indoor smallbore prone, and Mid-Range Prone (High Power) matches throughout the year.

Craig, I can remember your name, but I'm having trouble putting a face to it.

    Cheers!
